Course Description

Women’s Handgun II is a welcoming and engaging training class created for women who are seeking to begin, improve upon, or add to their firearms skills.

  • Basics and fundamentals will be introduced, reviewed, and then built upon, while also exploring:
  • Situational awareness
  • Common types of handguns
  • Ammunition types, malfunctions
  • Firearms handling skills
  • Defensive pistol fundamentals
  • The use of deadly force

Whether you’ve never touched a firearm, you’re looking for the next steps in your training, or you’ve chosen to learn about the skills, tools, and mindset needed to use firearms for self-defense, you can be prepared to carry confidently every day with tips and techniques from experienced women in the world of firearms.

What to Bring

Firearm and ammunition

After July 1, 2025, firearms and ammunition will no longer be provided for this class. Rentals are available if needed.

  • Handgun and at least two magazines
  • 50 rounds of ammunition
  • Handguns and ammunition are available for rental and purchase at the range desk.
  • Please remember that weapons for class or to be fired on our range are to be brought in unloaded and in a case.
Equipment
  • Hearing and eye protection for use during live fire
