Course Description
This is the Maryland Wear & Carry Refresher Course. This is an 8-hour course meets the requirements of classroom and hands-on instruction to renew your Maryland Wear & Carry.
Students will review gun owner responsibilities, safe handling of firearms, proper storage of firearms and ammunition, causes of firearms accidents, legal use of deadly force, mental preparation, and conflict avoidance. Students will also be instructed on Maryland laws focusing on any recent changes. The course will include live fire exercises to reinforce basic marksmanship, defensive shooting and basic holster work. The range work will culminate in the required MWCHP qualification shoot.

Current Maryland Wear and Carry Handgun Permit Holder
What to Bring
Firearm and ammunition
- Handgun
- We recommend a semi-automatic but revolvers are also allowed
- We also recommend you bring the firearm you plan to carry
- 125 rounds of ammunition
- A minimum of 2 magazines for semi-automatic and 2 speed loader for revolvers
Equipment
- Hearing and Eye Protection
- We recommend soft ears under electronic muffs for the indoor range
- Appropriate range clothing to include a crew neck type shirt
