General Information
Audience
This course is designed for people who are comfortable with the basics of shooting handguns but would like to work with instructors on improving their accuracy utilizing live-fire drills.
Course Description
This course will take place almost entirely on the range utilizing live-fire drills to improve your accuracy. We’ll help couch you through numerous drills that are designed to build your familiarity and confidence in the mechanics of handgun shooting. We’ll also help you develop a personal training plan to improve your accuracy and maintain your shooting competency.
Prerequisites
Basic Handgun I or basic familiarity with handgun shooting
Objectives
- Diagnose and attempt to correct unwanted movement during trigger pull
- Reinforce the importance of focusing on sights during trigger pull
- Reinforce the fundamentals of handgun shooting
- Reinforce the universal safety rules
- Develop a personal training plan for maintaining and improving proficiency
- Understand the effect of trigger manipulation on muzzle alignment during trigger pull
- Understand trigger break point, trigger reset and managing recoil
What to Bring
Firearm and ammunition
- Handguns and ammunition are available for rental and purchase at the range desk.
- Handgun and at least two magazines
- 100 – 150 rounds of ammunition
- Please remember that weapons for class or to be fired on our range are to be brought in unloaded and in a case.

- Eye and ear protection
- Eye/Ear protection is available for rent at the range desk
